Our Guarantee

We believe you should only pay when we deliver. If we cannot provide service history data for your vehicle, you get your money back — no questions asked.

1. When You Will Receive a Full Refund

You will receive a complete £9.99 refund in any of the following situations:

1.1 No Service Records Found

If your report is generated but shows zero manufacturer service records, we will refund you in full. Common reasons this occurs:

  • The vehicle was only ever serviced at independent garages (we retrieve manufacturer dealership records only)
  • The vehicle has not yet reached its first service interval
  • The vehicle was imported and has no UK dealership service history
  • The owner performed DIY maintenance and never visited a dealership
1.2 Vehicle Not Found

If the VIN or registration you entered cannot be located in manufacturer databases. This may happen due to a data entry error, a recently imported vehicle, or an unregistered VIN.

1.3 Vehicle Not Supported

If your vehicle falls outside our coverage — for example, a manufacturer we do not yet support, a vehicle older than our database coverage, or a commercial vehicle.

1.4 Technical Failure

If we experience a technical error that prevents us from generating your report, such as a manufacturer database outage or a system error on our end.

1.5 Duplicate Purchase

If you accidentally purchase the same report more than once, we will refund the duplicate charge(s).

2. When Refunds Are Not Available

2.1 Report Contains Service Records

If your report returns one or more service records, a refund is not available — even if fewer records than expected were found. The presence of any records confirms the service was successfully delivered.

Example: If a 6-year-old vehicle shows only 2 dealership services (perhaps the owner switched to an independent garage after the warranty period), this is a valid result and not grounds for a refund.

2.2 Incorrect Registration or VIN

If you enter the wrong vehicle details and we successfully generate a report for that vehicle, a refund cannot be issued. The service was provided correctly based on the information you submitted. Please always double-check your registration or VIN before purchasing.

2.3 Change of Mind

Once your report has been generated and accessed, the digital service has been delivered. Refunds for change of mind will not be made.

2.4 Misunderstanding of Service Scope

We clearly describe that our service covers manufacturers’ dealership service records. If you expected outstanding finance data, stolen vehicle checks, or independent garage records, this does not qualify for a refund. Please review our Terms & Conditions before purchasing.

2.5 Access Issues on Your Side

If you cannot access your report due to email spam filters, internet problems, or a lost report link, contact us and we will resend your report link. This is not grounds for a refund as the service was delivered as ordered.

3. How to Request a Refund

Step 1: Email us at help@theservicebook.co.uk with:

  • The registration or VIN you purchased a report for
  • The email address used for your order
  • A brief reason for your refund request

Step 2: We will review your request and respond within 48 hours (mostly much sooner).

Step 3: If approved, the refund is processed via Stripe to your original payment method. Refunds typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

4. Time Limit

Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of your purchase date. After 30 days, refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis.
