1. Who We Are

The Service Book (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the vehicle service history report service at theservicebook.co.uk. The Service Book is a trading division of Vehicle Data Global Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with Company No 16053104.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using The Service Book at theservicebook.co.uk (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

3. What The Service Book Provides

The Service Book provides access to official manufacturers dealership service records for UK registered vehicles. When you use the Service and purchase a report, The Service Book retrieves for you service history data associated with the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) from manufacturer databases and present such service history data in a clear, readable format.

3.1 What Is Included in a Report
  • Manufacturer dealership service records (dates, mileage, service type, dealer name)
  • MOT history where available (test results, mileage, advisories)
  • Combined mileage history from service and MOT readings
  • Mileage anomaly analysis
  • Access to your Report via a unique link
  • Email delivery of your Report link
3.2 What Is Not Included in a Report

The Service Book specialises exclusively in service history. Our reports do not include:

  • Outstanding finance checks
  • Stolen vehicle checks
  • Insurance write-off or accident history
  • Independent garage service records
  • Vehicle valuations or condition assessments

4. Coverage & Limitations of Reports

  • Vehicle Age: Coverage varies by manufacturer but is generally limited to vehicles registered from approximately 2012 onwards
  • Geographic Scope: Primarily European-market vehicles serviced at authorised UK and European dealerships
  • Supported Brands: Over 30 manufacturers (listed on our homepage)
  • Record Completeness: We can only show records that were entered into manufacturer systems by dealerships. If a dealer failed to log a service, it will not appear in our report

5. Data Accuracy

We retrieve data from official manufacturer databases through authorised channels. While we make every effort to present accurate information, it is important that you understand that any Report is subject to the following limitation:

  • We depend on data entered by dealership staff into manufacturer systems
  • We cannot guarantee that every service visit was recorded by the dealership
  • Manufacturer database availability may occasionally vary
  • MOT data is sourced from DVSA records and reflects what was recorded at the time of testing

The Service Book is not responsible for errors, omissions, or inconsistencies replicated in a Report where such errors, omissions or inconsistencies were contained in data provided by manufacturer databases or government records.

6. Pricing & Payment of Reports

  • The current price for a service history report is £9.99 per vehicle (inclusive of VAT)
  • This is a one-time fee for your report
  • All payments are processed securely through Stripe
  • We accept major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay
  • We reserve the right to change pricing at any time; price changes do not affect orders already completed

7. Refunds

Our full refund policy is available at theservicebook.co.uk/Refunds. In summary:

  • Full refund if we cannot generate your Report or if it returns zero service records
  • No refund if your Report contains one or more service records, regardless of the number

8. Your Responsibilities

When using the Service, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate vehicle identification details (VRM or VIN)
  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes
  • Not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to make bulk or programmatic requests
  • Not attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security measures
  • Not redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit reports without our written consent
  • Keep your report URL secure — anyone with the link can view the report

9. Intellectual Property

The Service Book website, branding, design, and software are our intellectual property. Reports you purchase may ONLY be used for the purposes set out below. Any other use by you constitutes a breach of our intellectual property.

  • Personal use (e.g. evaluating a vehicle before purchase)
  • Providing to potential buyers when selling your vehicle
  • Personal record-keeping

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Reports are provided “as is” based on information held in manufacturer databases. No liability is accepted for the content of Reports.
  • We are not liable for decisions made based on report contents
  • We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages
  • Our total liability is limited to the price you paid (£9.99)

Important: A service history report is one part of evaluating a used vehicle. Always conduct a physical inspection, test drive, and consider an independent mechanical inspection before purchasing.

11. Service Availability

We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to refuse service or terminate access for any user who violates these Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. We encourage you to contact us at help@theservicebook.co.uk to resolve any issues that may concern you.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
